Dear
_____________,
I am writing in support of Secretary of State
Debra Bowen's efforts to secure the integrity of our elections. The
study that she had the University of California conduct revealed
large security holes in many parts of the system. The recertification
of the system with 41 conditions shows that she is working hard to
plug those holes while still allowing elections to go on this
year.
Sequoia has resisted fair testing of their systems. Most
recently they have threatened to sue Princeton University professors
and New Jersey elections officials if they conduct tests as part of
an investigation as to why their Sequoia machines malfunctioned
(http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5820).
Yet, ironically, the company still claims that their systems are
secure and reliable.
I
hope you will research the New Jersey Sequoia issues and verify
whether the same problem has happened in our county.
Secretary
Bowen recently received the John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage Award
for her leadership in the face of misleading opposition from vendors
like Sequoia, and some county officials.
I am looking forward
to learning that you are speaking up in support of Debra Bowen's work
to secure our democracy and to make sure that our votes are counted
as cast.
